Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department will present its 96th annual Candlelighting program Sunday, Dec. 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program provides an opportunity for the Eastern community and area community to convene and welcome the holiday season. The event is one of the oldest traditions at Eastern and will feature performances by the Eastern Concert Band, Concert Choir and Chamber Ensemble.

Brian T. Harris, Eastern’s director of instrumental and choral ensembles, will lead the Chamber Ensemble, Concert Band and Concert Choir in this display of talent. Amy Swain will accompany the performances. The groups will perform a selection of numbers including “A Candle’s Light,” “Let the Light of Christmas Shine,” and “Arise, Arise and Shine.”

“The Candlelighting Concert is a wonderful opportunity for the EOSC Music Department and community to come together and enjoy the beginning of the Holiday Season,” said Harris. “I hope this year’s concert will provide those in attendance with the spirit of the season and maybe the inspiration to join one of our ensembles.”
