Southeastern Oklahoma State University Set to Open GAC Play

Southeastern is set to jump headlong into Great American Conference play when it first heads to Bethany, Okla., on Nov. 30 for its conference-opener versus Southern Nazarene at 5:30 p.m. before returning home for the GAC home opener against Southwestern Oklahoma State set for 1 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena on Dec. 3.
 
The Savage Storm enter conference play with a 2-3 record on the year and have won two of their last three contests, including an 11-point victory over Oklahoma Christian in its last outing.
 
SE is led by Briley Moon who is averaging 20.2 ppg which ranks second in the conference in scoring, while shooting 50.0 percent overall from the floor and 43.3 percent from three-point range.
 
She is joined in double-figures by Caitlin Kobiske who is putting up 11.8 ppg, while Holi Lindley and Lauren Beason are adding 6.6 and 6.0 ppg each, respectively.
 
Kobiske also leads the way on the board with 6.8 rebounds per game while Moon is next in line with 5.2 rpg, followed by Lindley’s 4.8 per game.
 
Aimee Alverson leads the way in assists with 3.6 assists per contest, while Moon is handing out 3.0 per game.
 
SNU comes into Wednesday’s contest with a 3-3 record on the year but have won two in-a-row after a 1-3 start.
 
The Crimson Storm is led by Cassandra Awatt who is averaging 18.0 ppg and 8.7 rpg to lead the way in both categories.
 
Georgia Adams and Hannah Giddey join her in double-figure scoring with 12.5 and 10.3 ppg, respectively, while Giddey is also hauling in 7.8 rebounds per contest.
 
SWOSU enters the week off to an 0-4 start to the season and will face Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday prior to Saturday’s matchup with the Storm.
 
The Bulldogs are led on offense by Morgan Smith who is putting up 14.8 ppg and Averi Zinn who is adding 12.0 ppg, while Macy Gore is handing out 4.0 assists per outing.
 
Defensively, Shamica Smith is pulling down a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game.
