Southeastern snapped a losing skid and put together back-to-back wins, first holding off Missouri Southern State for a 9-8 win before finishing the day with a 4-2 win over Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday afternoon at the Raising Cane’s Softball Festival in Bethany, Okla.
 
The sweep lifts the Savage Storm to 5-7 on the season with two games slated for Sunday m first taking on Northeastern State at 10:30 a.m., before closing the weekend with No. 6 Central Oklahoma at 1 p.m., with both games set for Edmond, Okla.
 
In the opener eight players collected hits for the Storm, with Alexis Massie posting two to lead the way.
 
Cheyenne Mahy would homer and drive in a pair of runs, while Bailey Beard and Massie each had two RBI, while Sammi Dutton would add one.
 
Amberlyn Walsworth picked up the win in relief, allowing three runs on two hits in 4.2 innings pitched with nine strikeouts.
 
Mahy got the start and took a no decision after tossing 2.1 innings and allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits with to strikeouts.
 
A Mahy solo homer in the bottom of the first opened scoring with the Storm taking a 1-0 lead.
 
MSSU answered in the top of the second with a solo homer of its own to even the score and would use back-to-back-to-back RBI situations int the third to push its lead out to 5-1 midway through the third.
 
Sammi Dutton would reach on an error attempting to sacrifice bunt runners around and Jaleigh Durst would take advantage, scoring to close the gap to 5-2 through three frames.
 
Massie would get the Storm offense going in the fourth with an RBI double to plate Olivares.

The Storm would load the bases and India McMurray would drive in Kady Fryrear after reaching on an error to close the gap to 5-4.
 
Dutton would then get hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to knot the game at 5-5, followed by Beard two-run double and a Mahy sac fly which scored Dutton to stretch the lead to 8-5 after four innings.
 
A Massie RBI single would bring home Fryrear and push the advantage to 9-5 after five innings.
 
MSSU would connect on a three-run homer tin eh top of the seventh to close the gap to 9-8, but Walsworth would answer by striking out the final two hitters to preserve the victory.
 
In the second game of the day, Olivares and Gracie Ore each picked up a pair of hits, while Olivares, India McMurray and Fryrear each had an RBI.
 
Walsworth would put together a complete-game victory, allowing two unearned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts.
 
An Olivares RBI double would start the scoring for the Storm in the top of the first, with Olivares scoring two batters later on a double-steal, taking home for a 2-0 lead.
 
Fryrear would add a run in the third with an RBI single up the middle that plated Mahy to stretch the lead to 3-0.
 
UNK would connect on a two-run homer in the fifth to close the SE lead to 3-2, but a McMurray RBI triple in the top of the seventh would tack on an insurance run to help the Storm to a 4-2 win.
