Southeastern Oklahoma State University Welch Added to Softball Coaching Staff

Southeastern head softball coach Mackenzie Sher has announced the addition of Maddison Welch as the assistant coach for the Savage Storm program.

 

"I thank Coach Mack [Sher], Coach [Keith] Baxter, and Mrs. Cherrie [Wilmoth]," said Welch, "For the opportunity to be a part of the Savage Storm family. I'm excited for what the future holds, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of this program.

 

Welch follows Sher from Union in Jackson, Tenn., where she served as the team's graduate assistant coach from 2019 until moving to SE.

 

While at UU she held duties ranging from recruiting and on-field instruction to practice management and field maintenance.

 

She also spent two years as a camp and site director with DC Elite Productions, managing softball camps across the region.

 

Prior to moving into the coaching world, Welch as a four-year starter at Christian Brothers where she holds the school record for games played and games started.

 

She has completed a BS in business administration at Christian Brothers in 2019 and an MA in education with an emphasis in sport leadership from Union in 2021 and is currently working on an MBA from Union.
