Eastern Oklahoma State College Baseball Announces Initial Commitments

The Eastern Oklahoma State College Mountaineers are excited to release the initial wave of players who have committed to join the Mountaineers in fall 2023, the current crop of future Mountaineers has garnered a Top 20 National recruiting class ranking by Perfect Game.

Head Coach Brock Moss states "I'm very excited about this initial class of commitments for the Mountaineers; assistant coaches Bryan Hodge and Dru Sebastian have been relentless on the recruiting trail and have brought in a quality crop of players who we believe will continue on the tradition and history of success that EOSC has started since 2010 in Region 2 baseball."

Find below player write ups for the initial wave of commitments for EOSC baseball:

RHP Diego Rodriguez, Los Alamos High School, New Mexico"Diego was one our first commitments in this class and was an arm Coach Sebastian was on for a long time and he fits the style of pitcher we are hoping to bring in every class. He is good looking kid with a ton of athleticism and arm speed; what separates Diego and made him stand out for us is his ability to spin a breaking ball and believe it can be a separator for him in college."

RHP/OF Dawson Price, Bentonville High School, Arkansas"Dawson is one of the best athletes in the state of Arkansas and is a player with an extremely high ceiling out of his 6'5 frame. He is a guy who has a chance to compete and make an impact on both sides of the baseball; he can play all 3 outfield spots can do multiple things on offense while providing value on the mound with his competitiveness and stuff that he currently possesses."

RHP Carson Sherrill, Chatfield High School, Colorado"Carson is an arm we are extremely excited about. He's long been one of the best pitchers in the Colorado High School circuit who has not only a good floor but has a great ceiling as well. He currently is a physical power pitcher who we think could fit multiple roles for us once he steps on campus providing a ton of value for us."

OF Wesley Bird, North Little Rock High School, Arkansas"Wes is a guy who we fell in love with early, he is a true CF type guy, and we feel is a complete player type for us. He can defend, he can run, and he has bat to ball skills while offering some juice in the bat to hit the baseball out of the yard. The fact that he is doing it from the left side plays even better for us with our ballpark and the way the ball flies."

OF Connor Taylor, Bentonville High School, Arkansas"Connor is an absolute gamer and a winner. He is a guy that coaches would describe as fitting the 6th tool with his makeup. He is another uber athletic outfielder who can play all 3 positions while playing great defense and grinding out at bats while providing base running value with his aggressive style. He can also hop up on the mound and compete with good stuff while throwing strikes if we needed him too."

MIF Zeb Henry, Bartlesville High School, Oklahoma"Zeb is a player we are very high on from a lot of aspects. He is a winner, competitor, and a leader a fit a huge need for us in this recruiting class as a MIF. He is a switch hitter who can fit the leadoff mold and make an offensive impact while being versatile enough defensively to truly be able to play 3 of the 4 infield spots for a lot of guys as an everyday guy."

RHP/INF Tony Woodie, Bentonville High School, Arkansas"Tony is a physical specimen in his 6'4 frame who will come in as a two-way player who has a ceiling on both sides of the baseball. On the mound he's got arm strength and is just tapping into his ability; we think he has the chance to turn in to a prototypical power pitcher at our level. At the plate, we believe there is untapped juice and throughout the times we watched him he has shown great strike zone awareness and showed outstanding OBP skills."

LHP/INF, Stephon Gryskiewicz, Bentonville High School, Arkansas"Stephon is physical specimen as well out of a 6'5 frame and is a player who should have an immediate impact to our program on both sides of the baseball. He is another LHH with juice who punishes baseballs and should fit the mold of a middle of the order power bat; on the mound he has tremendous stuff throughout his entire arsenal and nothing he throws is flat."

LHP Mason Trotter, Carl Albert High School, Oklahoma"Mason is your prototype left-hander in today's recruiting world. He has shown the ability to not only throw strikes, but really spin the baseball while showcasing good velo and spinning his baseball from an analytics standpoint at a high range. He is a guy we will believe could be a rotation type arm and could fit multiple roles for us."

RHP Tatum Hayworth, Union High School, Oklahoma"Tatum is another physical athletic arm in our class. He competes in one of the best classes in Oklahoma High School and had a fantastic junior season for his High School. We believe he is one of the best arms in the state and only going to continue getting better as he continues to tap into his ceiling and improve his already good arsenal on top of his strike throwing ability."

RHP Dylan Raines, Lake Travis High School, Texas"Dylan is another prototypical strike throwing arm with stuff that you take in every recruiting class. He is competitive and goes to one of the best high schools in the state of Texas and has seen premium competition on the summer circuit and has had success everywhere that he has been. He is another arm who can fit many roles for us upon arriving on campus."

RHP Lane Franklin, Wilburton High School, Oklahoma"Lane is a guy we were excited to keep at home for his college career. He has an untapped ceiling and is a very athletic kid. He has been a 3 sport athlete for a long time and has never focused on just baseball, we believe once he focuses solely on baseball he is going to start making tremendous strides and be a really good player for us."

LHP Ty Steele, Bentonville High School, Arkansas"Ty is another pitcher who fits your old school strike throwing lefty who just competes and wins. Ty will find a way to add value to any pitching staff and we are excited to what jumps he will make once he gets on our campus and gets in our throwing and strength programs."
