Saturday afternoon, the No. 19 ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (4-3, 0-0 SAC) dropped a pair of contests at day one of the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, Louisiana. USAO opened the day with a 3-1 loss against Missouri Baptist University, followed by a 6-2 loss against Clarke University.

-GAME 1 vs MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY (6-0, 0-0 AMC)

Missouri Baptist took an early lead with a run in the top of the first inning and remained in the lead until USAO tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The score remained tied until the top of the seventh when the Spartans were able to bring in a pair of runs to clinch the victory.

Despite the loss, the Drovers out-hit the Spartans by a margin of 8-6, but USAO committed a pair of fielding errors.

Josh Harrel got the start for USAO on the mound and delivered 6.0 strong innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run, while striking out seven batters.

Alden Norquist relieved Harrel in the seventh inning and was credited with the loss after surrendering a pair of runs. Nolan Gagnon relieved Norquist and recorded the final out.

Ben Lawson and Gunnar Hansen led the USAO offense with two hits each. Lawson went 2-2 with a pair of singles, while Hansen went 2-3 with one run batted in.
