Two Eastern women's basketball players earned 2022-2023 NJCAA Region 2 Division I Awards.

Crystal Ortiz, a third-year sophomore forward from Sallisaw, Okla., earned First Team All-Region honors. Brooklyn Fisher, a freshman guard from Oklahoma City, earned Second Team All-Region honors.

Ortiz earned three Region 2 Player of the Week awards this season. She played in 26 games this season and averaged 17 points and 6.9 rebounds per game during the regular season. Ortiz also shot 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Fisher earned one Region 2 Player of the Week award this season. She played in 23 games this season and averaged 12.7 points, 4.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game during the regular season. Fisher also shot 28.8 percent from beyond the arc and 63.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lady Mountaineers finished the regular season in 4th place in the Region 2 standings. They will look to win their second Region 2 Tournament Championship in three years beginning on March 9. Eastern will play Seminole State at 1 p.m. at the Muskogee Civic Center.
